In 1997, Nike collaborated with its major retailer, Foot Locker, on a project called Sky Air. The sports giant was asked to create a new running shoe featuring Tuned Air technology — the latest Air Max innovation that used two hemispheres in the sole’s Air Unit to enhance stability and reduce heel pressure.
